UPDATE November 2004
Force Feedback has been added by hacking a Logitech Formula Force USB Wheel.

The Logitech wheel was cut away from its' boss at the base of the spokes, leaving only the centre structure. I made an adaptor plate from 3/16" aluminium sheet and bolted this to the remains of the Logi centre. |
 |
My recently created shifter boss was then bolted to the aluminium plate. Then I altered the wiring to suit my homebuilt pedals. Connect, calibrate and hey!!! Force Feedback! Now I can feel the shockers working as I cut across the ripple strips! |
|
More recently, I added some buttons to the wheel. Here you can see the four momentary switches mounted on an aluminium backing plate. I use these for different purposes according to the sim, but typically pit lane speed limit, look left and right and pit-stop requests. |
